misty watercolor mem...trees

This is some watercolor thing I did many years ago that I just now came upon. It's actually pretty large and in three panels. It's not good at all, but I remember having so much fun making it. The great thing about this type of paint is that it tends to have a life of its own -- you never know what to expect. You can paint with Q-tips, rolled bits of toilet paper, your finger, anything. You can blow droplets around with a straw even. Finally you can just pour a half a glass of water over the whole thing, then blot it with an old t-shirt and see what kind of effect that gets you. Watercolors are cheap and amateur-friendly. You may not have anything worth framing, but you will have had a good time for an hour or so.

Regular toons resume tomorrow.

I like this - in fact I like it a lot. I think I would enjoy trying something like that. I am not "artsy" by any stretch but it does sound like fun!

I love the title and since my own daughter loved water colors, she and I are smiling proudly upon your work!

Pretty good actually. Center color just a tad light to truly make a three panel.

I know exactly what you mean-watercolor is frustrating in the fact that the paint does what it wants alot, colors react in different ways to each other, etc..which is why I like working in it..throw colorblindness in there too and it really gets fun...gaah

i was floored, so beautiful! and it sounds like you had a blast doing it, so i'd say it was a success, regardless. i never get my things to come out like i have pictured in my mind, so i usually just let it go unformed and see where we end up. and that reminds me that it's been a long time since i did anythign like artsy, as in drawing, sketches, painting, and teh like. my octopus doodler, debra

10 points for the title alone.

And according to my word verification, I have "clictoe"

Damnit, I thought that anti-fungal cream cleared that up.
