We got our first color TV in the seventies, too, and it's odd that I don't remember black & white cartoons. I do remember watching the Beatles first appearance on Ed Sullivan in B&W.

My dad worked for CBS when I was young, so I only really remember color.

I don't remember getting our first color TV, but I'm sure it was an event. I do remember our old B&W. I can only picture Ed Sullivan in B&W. Do you remember coming home from school and watching Major Astro? Local guy from Wichita? (I think) and then there was Hi-fi-hop. :-)

Love the Flo reference! I'm gonna start using that one at work.

LOL... I really liked the MTM show... didn't that used to come on Friday nites..? I know it made me feel 'grown up' being able to understand and laugh at most of the jokes...

I know that I watched some black and white, but most of my childhood was spent watching color TV, at least in my home. Never remember a moment where getting a new TV was huge... only that we got new TV's...

The tubes inside the TV always fascinated me. You just pulled them out and bought replacements. Now, you throw the whole TV away and buy a new one. And don't get me started on toasters. Lol. -Cin
