This is adorable. I love your memories of simple, innocent things like this.

It also reminds me of that joke about the snail who buys a fast car and then paints the letter S all over it so that folks can say "Look at that S car go!"

We used to sit in front of the barber shop on Sunday and watch the traffic and wave at strangers.

my roomies in undergrad and i would sit on our roof above Bob's Subs and make remarks as tho we were the drivers of the passing vehicles {"oh yeah, i'm cool, don't i look cool? i drive an IZOD. So i must be cool. right?"}

What I like the most about your recent entries is the innocent, whimsical nature that runs through many of them. This is Americana, growing up and not know what is in store for you in the future, a magical place where anything can happen.

America isn't really that bad of a place... I would rather be here than anywhere else... you have dreams and they are possible... (and double what F & M said!)

Seems like a scene out of a Kevin Smith movie, like Clerks.

I'm up on that same roof. The world is kind of a wonderful place. Like it was last night, I remember sitting on the garage roof as a teenager, smoking and watching the planes fly right over our heads. It was like a magic none of us understood, and that was cool-who needs to understand everything?
