yes, it's confusing to kids to be thrust into a stranger's lap, and have him thrust his hairy face into yours and peal out with hearty "ho~ho~ho"s...esp when the kid's been told not to talk to strangers, and never never take candy from strangers {put that candy cane down, ya hear me now?}
