little dog lost

I made this artwork about a week ago when I was feeling really tired and depressed about my little Yorkie's failing health and reluctance to eat.  She's gone now.

She took a real turn for the worse on Tuesday, stayed at the vet's and never came home. She was warm and safe and went very peacefully.  I'm glad she finally got her happy ending after suffering for the past two weeks with my stupid fingers trying to get vital medication down her little throat in hopes of buying her some relief and some time.  She was tired of that. She lived a comfortable thirteen years before being diagnosed with a severely enlarged heart 18 months ago.  She wasn't expected to last six months after that, but we were very vigilant about medication and diet in hopes that she would somehow make a miracle recovery. She didn't.

I miss her, but I'm so relieved that her suffering has stopped.  I wish it could have gone differently there at the end, but death is never easy or convenient for anybody. That's how death works. It's messy.

Regular toon stuff will resume shortly.

Oh babe--I know it's probably for the best--but still. And I know the feeling of relief and sorrow. You know I'm thinking about you.

It is hard when the furkids leave us, they become so much a part of our lives. She was a lucky little lady to have spent her time with you. My thoughts are with you guys. So Sorry.

I am so sorry. Our furbabies become family... are family. And, we have to mourn there passing just the same. And, just the same remember they are still with us in all the happy memories.

{{{hugs}}} I haven't been doing much with blogs... but I will try to visit more!

So sorry but as you said she isn't in the pain any longer and she had the best home I'm sure.

the fact that she went peacefully should be comforting, although I know you miss her as she was such a vital part of your family for so many wonderful years. I'm sorry for your loss
