She's a Beauty

SNOW!

Yes. We got our first snow of the season here in Hooterville. It was pretty and didn't really stick once it hit the ground, but it drove home the fact that Winter has arrived, and along with it -- this ghastly season of mirth. I hate Christmas so much that I've decided to skip it all together this year. I'm just going to ignore it and pretend it's been cancelled this year.

DASHBOARD?

As many complaints as I had about AOL and their haphazard handling of AOL Journals, I must confess that I miss my old blog. This Blogger shit just isn't working for me. I've lost contact with people I used to check in with weekly. I've been toying with the idea of just abandoning my blog life altogether. But then what would I do with all these toons that are piling up?

TOILET THANKSGIVING

We got a new toilet here at my address! It was installed over the course of two days by Argentinian plumbers who did not speak a word of English. Lumpy spoke to them while I sat on the floor with a muzzled German Shepherd. Bongo is old and cranky and wants to bite any and all strangers -- so I comforted him while watching old movies on TCM. Ask me if I was in the mood for turkey during this holiday break. Go ahead. Ask.

QUEEN BEE

That's the name of probably the worst movie Joan Crawford ever made. During the plumbing episodes I watched it. I'd love to talk to some old-timer who actually paid to see it in a theater way back in 1954. I once asked my mom if she remembered anything about Ms. Crawford and she replied: "All I remember is that she made a LOT of bad movies". "Queen Bee" was truly terrible. No wonder Joan beat her kids.

LADY TOONS

The cartoons I'm including in this post are archival and one of them is slightly new. I barely know what I'm doing here on this blogger place, so I'm throwing everything against the wall -- so to speak.

I hate my blogger dashboard as well. The last lady you drew reminds me of the clients I see at work sitting in the lobby! I'm so grateful my mother never left me a pot pie to eat. :) Julie

I don't like Blogger's posting tools either... but, being me, I went out and found something better. It's called Live Writer, and it works -much- better. I have a link over on my blog to it. If you want to try it and have any questions, just e-mail me! I want to keep you around!!

Russ, it took me a while to figure out that I can read entries through the dashboard ... or go to google reader OR ... go to my own page and just click on the followers and read them that way OR ... I have a list of blogs I read on my page and they are set for 'last entry' made. I can go to my own page and then click on each of the blogs I read. Yeah, it's a pain, but eventually when the fog clears you get a system down. Others prefer bloglines which I tried, but you know, uh, I signed up and each time I go there it tells me to confirm my what-have-you and I do and then it tells me I already did and still won't let me in. So, oh well.

I think liquid dessert is called for on some holidays.

One of those ladies reminds me of someone I know. It's not a pretty sight.

But I do enjoy your artwork.

And I'm miffed I've lost some friends in the move too, but I've also made some new?

Anyone I might be able to help you locate?

That first "lady"'s going to give me nightmares :::shudder:::
I know it's frustrating, just hang in there, and keep trying!
I might try that Live Writer thingie.

I agree about Blogger, it doesn't feel the same at all ~ I miss my alerts! I haven't heard from Gaz at all ~ I miss you too... I haven't been writing hardly at all, just haven't felt like it ~ words aren't there, I mean they are it just seems to take so much energy anymore, probably the depression affecting it.
((((((((Russ)))))))) like I said I miss you honey...Love you* Teresa

I hope you keep trying with Blogger. You seem to be doing fine with putting up pictures!

Isn't "Mommie Dearest" one of those guilty pleasures for just about everyone? If I'm flipping channels and come across it, I have to watch at least some of it. "Road House" is another one of mine.

I love the blogger publishing, but I've been using it for several years now.

If you're having a hard time reading your friends blogs, try Google Reader. It puts all your favorite blogs new posts in one place to read and comment, I love it. (I didn't know if that is what you meant about losing touch).

Then again, with as many followers as you have, you'd be busy just keeping up:) (Never knew you were one of the popular kids did ya?)

Love the ladies, the last one reminds me of someone I know. I am getting more comfortable with blogger but it is hard to keep up.

We are having our first snow right now and it sucks, I don't like it at all.

I hope you don't give up on Blogger - we would miss you!!!

DON'T GO!

Also, you can NOT just ignore Christmas. You live with an infomercial addict.
