Why do we doodle? It is entirely possible that by making your students stop doodling, you are actually harming their ability to focus on what you’re teaching.

Very organized doodles this time :o)
i dont care if the students doodle in their stuff (notes, bookcovers), it becomes an issue for me when it spills onto the headers and margins of stuff they have to turn in to me (tests, homework).

To be a doodler or not to be a doodler, that is the question? I've never been a doodler. I wonder what that says about me. I don't think I've ever known anyone who could doodle as nice as you.
sometimes i get my words all bassackward, and it can lead to humorous moments. when i was a teen, my forehead was bruised and sore and i had no recollection of why. my mother asked what happened and i said, "i don't know, but it feels like i ran into a prick wall" to which my mom replied, "wow, a whole wall of them?!" that's what your brick~P brought to mind. grins, debra
I have to agree with that--and maybe the more orderly the doodle, the higher the need for precise memory? (that's a particularly precise doodle!)
