my childhood best friend

Kenny and I fell into different crowds after junior high. That's common, I guess. He died this past year.

I love when you do these. You have such a vivid memory! Kenny sounds pretty cool, sorry to hear he passed away.

Sorry for the loss of your friend. I used to eat lots of tuna but somehow it just doesn't taste as good.

That is indeed very common. I can think of several good friends I had in grade school...we grew apart once we got to high school. I'm sorry you lost your friend.

Sorry about Kenny. Hanging out at his house sounds like a great time.Kids having real fun without RuneScape and FaceBook! Your memory pages are wonderful. -Cin

i love that you didn't get in trouble for the bonfire in the wagon...that was sorta like a portable brazier!!

I'm thinking Kenny is the guy you wrote about once on your past blog. You mentioned some about his life(seeing him once again when you were both older, also)..and then that he had passed away.

So much crap is unwanted, unbidden & unstoppable...but a first tuna sandwich, crappy old movies & a good childhood friend are major positives. ~Mary oxoxo

The childhood memories are very powerful, hope they outshine your loss.

almost 50 but not quite said...

i love your four-panel growing up cartoons. you need an agent. and you need to do a book. i have spoken
and, contrary to popular belief, i know what i'm talking about sometimes.

I can't find the words to write something to make much sense. A very touching post and I don't know how much 'loss' you feel as you both drifted apart, but I know I would feel a loss for the friend I could have known if I had managed somehow to find a way to stay 'in contact' and a part of their life.

I do that sometimes. A lot of that is what had me go out to Virginia last summer. I miss(ed) the SFC my entire adult life. And I miss her more now that our paths have crossed and seperated again.

Both times, I have been left with a feeling that I would not wish on anyone.
