The skin burning flashlight ~ 2 funny... I wish I had thought of that one when I was a kid and my younger brother and sister were such pests. I'll have to tell my granddaughter about it ... she can freak out her pesky little sister with it. I know... I'm such a wicked granny. It must be the Halloween season.
I remember you once telling me about the "Eeks" and I've been smiling about that whenever I see a Daddy Long-legs since then.
I don't remember being afraid of things. My family was scary enough.

The paperback of 'The Shining' and 'Shadowland' were books that made me tremble at the sight of them. but I had to read them anyway!
You mean flashlights DON'T burn the skin?? That was another childhood belief we shared. I used to pretend that they were firing pulse beams or something from Space: 1999.
Living in the country, we still have lots of opportunities for the spider fears.
I was afraid of going to the outhouse in the middle of the night. There was a black widow spider down in that hole, I know there was.
I was just terrified of the closet at night.
Love the term EEKS - I don't mind most spiders, but those are pretty creepy.
My big brothers showed me an old B&W vampire movie and my entire childhood I was afraid of vampires if I had to sleep alone. (with a sheet wrapped around my neck.) I completely support the movie rating system.
i was terrified of butterfly nets. and men in white jumpers. i'm still frightened of that combination.
