As always, I loved this look back at "little Russ" - I think the pet blob idea is adorable. I also checked out the link and can see why you liked those books.
Ha I love this! I think you would like my poem/song 'A Vampire Falls In Love', got laughs at the last reading, but hey I also share your feelings for monsters...there is one in every creature on earth...dogs and humans included :)

I remember watching the show That's Incredible in the 70s. They had a segment about a company of paranormal researchers who could give you your own ghost. I wanted one. I mean I really, really wanted one but my parent's told me that was a stupid idea.
To this day, I can still sing the "Beware of the Blob" song.
I think the little bits you reveal in these autobiographical bits resonate with everyone.
