copyright infringement friday (another rerun)

Anybody who saw my old aol blog may remember this. Yes -- it's another horror movie-themed Pear Dude portrait. I will try to limit the number of reruns to no more than once a month. I was just really proud of this one for whatever reason.

by request

About a week ago, Elizabeth left a comment mentioning she'd like to see the pear dude character I sometimes draw as the shark from "Jaws". It's hard to ignore a weird request like that. I spent too much time debating whether or not to give him sharp shark teeth or the regular pear dude teeth. I should have gone with the shark teeth. Dammit.

dandelions

I don't. I really don't have a problem with dandelions because it's hard to hate something that has such a need to live and thrive no matter what you do to it. I just wish there was a way to genetically graft some of their tenacity into food that's grown to be eaten. I mean, wouldn't it be great if fruit trees and wheat stalks could regenerate with almost supernatural speed after being wiped out? Somebody much smarter than me needs to start working on that.

Juniper Street

I watch and draw fictional people walking down a fictional street. This is a flimsy concept I've had stewing in my head for a few weeks. I might even change the name of the street.

Once again, to play along at home just make a sentence where each word you use must begin with the same letter that the previous word ended with.

consumer review

THE POTTY PAD

I generally don't have much faith in anything marketed with the line "as seen on TV", and my lack of faith is usually validated. I also don't hold out great hopes for the animals I live with and their ability to act like the pets seen in magazine ads and TV commercials. The Potty Pad is a 3' square of fake grass resting on a plastic tray that your dogs are supposed to use for their eliminations as opposed to carpeting and other forbidden surfaces. I assembled it per the very short sheet of instructions and put it in a common area for "accidents". Smaller dog breeds have irregular schedules for peeing and pooing, and it can be difficult to time their walks. I've walked Winnie in ten minute intervals some evenings and still can't get the timing right. The Potty Pad seemed like it would be the solution -- it was NOT. Neither dog wanted anything to do with this damn thing. I put them on top of and they couldn't wait to get away from it. They would avoid even walking near it and I almost broke down and used it myself. I didn't of course because then I couldn't have taken it back to Petco and got my fifty bucks back.
In conclusion: Don't buy this.

copyright infringement friday

Anybody who saw my old AOL blog will probably recognize this. Yes, it's not only copyright infringement -- it's recycled copyright infringement from four or five years ago. I used to draw this walking talking pear character, and saved quite a few of the pictures that were horror movie-themed. Oh well ... Summer is coming soon and that's the season for reruns.

kloups 4/14

These are going to be called"Kloups" from now on since that's what most of the previous commenters seemed to agree on. I really liked Vickie's suggestion of "word dominoes", but that's almost too good of a name and entirely too logical. There's not much logic around here.

To play along at home, just make a simple sentence where the first letter of the word matches the last letter of the previous word. Send me your best ones!

Winnie 4/13

Winnie is a wonderful, good-natured dog who has shown herself to be invaluable when it comes to assisting with the new puppy (Tucker). She's become his surrogate mother and plays with him when the rest of us are too distracted or exhausted. No pics of the little one yet -- they're coming.

word chain

This is a writing exercise that I do from time to time. I either read about it somewhere or made it up. What you do is start with a word and the next word has to begin with the same letter the previous word ended with. You can create a surreal little sentence like the one above. Be prepared to use a lot of S's.
If anybody has a better name for these 'word chains' please share it. I thought about calling them a made-up Captcha word -- like Kloups.

I saw someone named 'joyfulfish' at an online poker table, so I guess he or she was winning pretty big. Now that I think about it -- this might just be a religious person. Oh well.

copyright infringement friday

It's Davey from that horrible kid show "Davey and Goliath". I really, really hated this show --
not because of the heavy-handed morality, but because it was so boring. And because it was the only thing on for kids to watch on Sunday mornings. Also, Davey was a total wuss.

Here's another attempt at digital mixed media which ended up looking like just about every New Wave album cover from the mid 80's. Oh well.

Winnie 4/8

And just when everybody was starting to get used to each other, we go and get a six week-old puppy and bring him into the mix. He's a little Yorkie who's very small and kinda too hard for me to draw right now. Stay tuned.
